KOCHI: There's still some thrill left in this year after all. As part of the Carnival at Fort Kochi that started earlier this month, the organisers have brought a unique activity by way of an 'Adventure Water Walk' So those tired of walking on the hot tarred roads could well give this is a go. "The activity brought by Soleil Consulting Services has been launched for the first time in Kerala," says the event director, Sandeep Narayan.The organisers feel that water sport lovers are sure to enjoy the experience. And the aqua phobic will be tempted to try it at least once, setting aside their fears. An open event, the activity is supported by 'Interdive' Diving Service, wherein their two experienced divers, Simson P V and Godwin Fernandez are in charge of rescue at this fun ride spot. “The water balloon walk is safe for forty five minutes but we allow only a five to seven minutes walk. It is just about being extra cautious” says Godwin. A seven minute water walk is equivalent to a twenty five minutes workout on a treadmill. The water ball made of extremely durable 0.8mm TPU plastic is inflated with a special pump till it has enough oxygen to last for forty five minutes. This ball can be used at pools, beaches and also at other water spots having low water level ranging from forty to fifty centimeters.Many more safety measures have been taken, says the event director. “As the activity gets started, the ball is connected to the shore with a solid rope. For safety reasons, only one person is allowed in the ball at one time. The maximum weight the ball is allowed to carry is seventy five kilos. People suffering from high blood pressure, heart problems and epilepsy are recommended not to try it,” says Narayan.The water walk activity will be available at the Fort Kochi Beach from 3 pm-6 pm till December 31. The entry fee for kids is ` 50 and ` 100 for adults.[email protected]
