Tiger may part with golf for family's sake
Elin Nordegren is willing to give him another chance for his transgressions.

Washington: British tabloid The Sun newspaper has reported that ace golfer Tiger Wood's wife, Elin Nordegren is willing to give him another chance for his transgressions for the sake of their two children — Two-year-old daughter Sam and newborn baby boy Charlie – but it will come at a cost, the paper quotes an unnamed friend of Elin saying: "They have agreed to try and rebuild their marriage, but Elin will be the one calling the shots. It will be a long time before he's travelling the globe playing golf unless Elin's by his side. Tiger will have to work long and hard to ever get her to trust him again. Quitting golf shows he is willing to sacrifice something he loves so much to protect his family."

However, If Tiger does, in fact, walk away from golf, the consequences could be catastrophic for the sport.

The spurt in the sport's popularity over the last decade or so has been because of Tiger's extraordinary success. In fact, the man whose record of 18 major titles which Tiger is chasing, Jack Nicklaus has urged for the privacy of the fallen icon to be respected.

"Our public is pretty forgiving at times. Time usually heals all wounds. I think the hardest thing is obviously his family. That's a private matter for him and his family. He is a great athlete. He'll figure it out," said Nicklaus.

American golf player John Daly said, "Golf needs Tiger more than any other player that's ever played golf. With his record and the way he plays, he just brings people out and he raises the bar for all of us to play better golf as well when he's out there"

While the storm rages on, Woods' legal team has moved into damage control mode, asking the London High Court to ban the publication of any nude photographs and videos of him with a rider that they do not believe any such pictures exist.
