Tortured, girl escapes from Delhi

JHARSUGUDA: A 12 year-old girl, Rachana Naik, of Budari village in Rayagada was rescued by a train passenger, Reshma Seth, and handed over to Jharsuguda Government Railway Police (GRP) on Tuesday. Rachna was allegedly lured by a couple to Delhi three months back, where she worked as a domestic help.The girl, who was allegedly tortured by her master, managed to escape and board a train.   She, however, got down at Bina railway station where Reshma spotted her crying.On inquiry, Rachna narrated her ordeal to Reshma following which the latter brought her along and handed her over to Jharsuguda Government Railway Police (GRP). The GRP authorities have contacted Thakkar Bapa Shelter Home where she will be housed till her family members arrive.
