The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has commenced the recruitment process for the posts of constables in various departments. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online through the official website— www.hppsc.hp.gov.in. It is to be noted that the recruitment process is underway, and candidates can apply for these posts by October 31.
Under the recruitment drive, the commission is aiming to fill a total of 1,088 posts. Out of which, 708 posts are for constables (male), whereas 380 vacancies are for female constables.
HPPSC Constable Recruitment 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 26 years of age to apply.
Educational Qualification: To be eligible, candidates must have passed Matriculation and Class 12 from any Institution/School/ Board situated within Himachal Pradesh.

Step 1: Candidates need to visit the official website of HPPSC at – hppsc.hp.gov.in.
Step 2: Then, look for and click on the HPPSC Constable Recruitment 2024 link available on the homepage.
Step 3: A new page will appear where applicants have to enter the required details, such as their personal and academic information.
Step 4: Check carefully and submit the application form.
Step 5: Scan and upload all the necessary documents and hit the submit button.
Step 6: Once done, save a copy of the confirmation page for future reference.
HPPSC Constable Recruitment 2024: Selection Process
Physical Test: The recruitment process starts with a physical test. It consists of the Physical Standard Test (PST) and the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Candidates shortlisted in this round will then have to appear in the second round of selection.
Written Test: The second round is a written examination worth 90 marks. Candidates will be provisionally admitted to an offline multiple-choice objective-type written examination held for two hours.
Document verification and evaluation: This round is for those who successfully qualify for the physical test and written examination. They will be shortlisted according to the zone of consideration as per the Rules of Business of the Commission for document verification to be carried out by the HP Police Department. It is to be noted that the department will also award the marks of NCC certificates to the candidates during document verification.
Medical Examination: The final round is a medical examination, which will be scheduled and conducted by the HP Police Department after receiving recommendations from the HP Public Service Commission.
HPPSC Constable Recruitment 2024: Salary
Following the recruitment process, candidates will be appointed for specialised duties in the Pay Band Level 3. Aspirants can expect a salary ranging from Rs 20,200 to Rs 64,000 in the HP Police Department under Himachal Pradesh Police Department (Recruitment of Constables) Rules, 2024.
