A shocking case has emerged from Fatehabad, Haryana, where a soldier has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 24-year-old nurse whose body was found in the Ghaggar river earlier this year. The accused, identified as Ramfal, hailing from the Jabtewala village, was taken into custody after an intensive investigation by the police. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sanjay Bishnoi, the incident dates back to early February when the victim, Gosha, employed as a nurse in Tohana, went missing after leaving home for a supposed 24-hour duty. Her body, concealed in a sack, was discovered on February 15 along the Ghaggar riverbank in Ratia. Following an intensive investigation, police arrested the accused soldier, identified as Ramfal from Jabtewala village, who was on leave at the time of the incident.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjay Bishnoi, investigations revealed that the soldier and the victim had been acquaintances since their school days. The relationship allegedly turned sour when Gosha began pressuring Ramfal, who is married, to marry her. Fearing exposure and societal repercussions, Ramfal purportedly strangled Gosha with a dupatta and charger wire during a car ride on February 4. He subsequently disposed of her body in the river with the help of an accomplice.
DSP Bishnoi further stated that the soldier’s confession during interrogation led to the arrest of another individual involved in the crime. The police are continuing their efforts to apprehend this accomplice. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. Ramfal has been remanded into judicial custody pending further investigation into the case. The accused soldier has been charged with murder and awaits further legal proceedings as the investigation continues to unfold.
