TTD mulls diploma courses in Sanskrit

TIRUMALA: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is contemplating to conduct certificate and diploma courses in Sanskrit to popularise the study of the ancient language. Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday after the TTD Central Dharmic Advisory Council meeting, its chairman J Rambabu said the TTD is contemplating offering six months to one year courses through distance education mode in collaboration with Sanskrit universities.He said the TTD would work in tandem with the endowments department, besides involving people for the promotion of Sanathana Dharma from the village level.The objective is to promote spiritual, religious sentiments and devotion among the youth and students.Saying that the council and the Dharma Prachara Parishad will come up with a road map for the promotion of the dharmic activities in villages, besides providing tools like mike sets, umbrellas, idols of Lord Venkateswara for the temples for propagation of spirituality and devotion through Bhakti movement, he said the TTD will also print and keep enough stocks of popular TTD publications
