BANGALORE: The sleuths of the Special Enquiry Squad of the city’s Central Crime Branch (CCB) have arrested two persons, in separate cases, for allegedly involving in betting on the current IPL cricket matches.In the first case, the arrested person has been identified as Mahadeva, 40, a resident of Karumariyamma Temple Street 10th C Cross in Rajajinagar 6th Block. The police have recovered Rs 2 lakh in cash, a TV set, three mobile phones and a landline phone from him. He was carrying out betting activities on IPL matches from his residence. A case has been registered in Magadi Road police station in this connection, the police explained.In the second case, Anand alias CD Ananda, 30, a resident of Sampangirama Nagar 5th Main Road, was arrested at his house. A cash Rs 1 lakh, four mobile phones and a TV set have been recovered from him. The police said that he used to carry out betting by contacting others over a number mobile phone numbers. A case has been registered in Sampangirama Nagar police station.
