HYDERABAD: Saifabad police arrested two persons on Sunday in connection with two different theft cases and recovered VCDs, LCDs, laptops and two-wheelers worth more than Rs 4.50 lakh. Harshavardhan Raju, officer-on-special duty, Saifabad sub-division said the accused Mohammed Farooq Siraj alias Mujahed, a resident of Indiranagar near Midhani Bus Depot was involved in thefts of two-wheelers. He said they arrested the accused when a police party stopped him while he was riding a stolen Bajaj Chetak scooter (AHO-6372). When asked to show documents, Mohd Farooq failed to produce them. Police also recovered another five Bajaj Chetak scooters and 13 scooter bodies. Total worth of property is `2.30 lakh. In another case, police arrested Devarinti Vinod Kumar Reddy alias Vinod, native of Devarintipally village of Anantapur district. The accused who resides at Indiranagar, is a habitual offender and into stealing laptops, CPUs, LCDS from private offices after joining as a office boy. Harshavardhan Raju said he came to the city two years aback and stayed in a rented room at Indiranagar. Police said Vinod committed theft CPUs, LCDs and laptops at different offices under Chikkadpally and Saroor Nagar police stations. Police arrested the accused from the Lakdi-ka-pul railway station. Five laptops, 12 CPUs and seven LCDs were recovered from his room, all worth `2.88 lakh.
