Raisen (Madhya Pradesh): Accusing BJP leaders Atal Behari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani of being mute spectators to the spectacle of the demolition of ideals laid down by Deen Dayal Upadhya, Uma Bharti on Sunday hinted at launching a new political party.
Facing expulsion from the BJP, Bharti chose to give her reply to the show cause notice served on her in style.
Addressing a mammoth rally in Raisen, the Sadhvi lashed out at the second-line of the BJP leadership and reminded the top leadership of the ideals on which the Jan Sangh was formed.
"A new political party has to be formed if the existing one fails and the process has to go on till the final purpose is achieved," Bharti said.
While attempting to strike an emotional chord with her followers, Bharti repeated her pledge to work for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
She also portrayed herself as the one who has been wronged and sought support from the grassroot workers of the BJP.
Bharti, who claimed to have sent a reply to the show cause notice in three parts?that included proof of indiscipline committed by senior party leaders, explanation and reply to the charges on her and the letter to Advani?alleged BJP has deviated from its ideology.
"For the sake of power, we can't cheat people," she said.
She further added that "even after being publicly insulted, I returned after my suspension last year due to promises of swaraj, swadeshi and swabhiman," Bharti said.
"One year has passed and no decision has been taken on the issues. Instead, I have been made fun of whenever I have tried to start a debate on them," she alleged.
Taking a dig at Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Bharti claimed she had no personal enmity with him but felt like a "mother whose baby (Madhya Pradesh government) was being taken away by child snatchers".
