Ranbir Kapoor Smiles In New Photo From Ramayana Sets, Poses With 'Vishwamitra' | Check Here
Ranbir Kapoor will be playing the role of Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, whereas Sai Pallavi will be seen essaying the role of Sita.

It is no secret that Ranbir Kapoor has started shooting for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. On Thursday, a new photo of the actor from the film sets surfaced on social media where he was seen posing with actor Ajinkya Deo. He will be playing the role of Vishwamitra in the much-awaited film.

Deo shared the picture with Ranbir on his Instagram handle in which the two were seen twinning in black. Ranbir also sported a cap as he flaunted his million-dollar smile and posed for the camera. In the caption of his post, Deo announced that he has joined the cast of Ramayana.

“So now for the clarification on this photo … excited to be doing a stellar role in the film Ramayan a magnum opus with RK and it’s been a wonderful year and a half as I shared the screen first with Neetu Singh Kapoor ma’am then with Karisma Kapoor for a web series and now with Ranbir Kapoor,” he wrote.

Ranbir Kapoor will be playing the role of Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, whereas Sai Pallavi will be seen essaying the role of Sita. Recently, photos of the two actors from the sets of the film leaked online in which they were seen in their Ram and Sita avatars respectively.

Ranbir wore a maroon dhoti and added a dupatta of the same colour on one of his shoulders. He also sported a long golden neckline. He looked charming in long hair and also kept a subtle smile on his face. On the other hand, Sai wore a purple saree and accessorised her look with heavy traditional jewellery. The pictures also made it clear that Ranbir and Sai were shooting for pre-vanvasa sequences.

Previously, it was reported that Ranbir underwent a strict schedule to prepare himself for the role of Ram. He reduced carbohydrate intake and heightened cardio exercises, including running and bodyweight training. A source cited by India Today claimed that the actor intended to slim down rather than maintaining a muscular build, especially shedding weight from his face and torso, areas he had bulked up for his role in Animal.

Besides Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, Ramayana is also likely to star Yash as Ravana, whereas Sunny Deol has reportedly been locked in for the role of Hanuman. Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi are also reportedly in talks for the roles of Kumbhakarna and Vibhashana respectively.

Reportedly, makers are planning to release Ramayana on Diwali 2025. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this as of now.
