US elections: Obama wins in Iowa and Wisconsin
Barack Obama, who is expected to win in almost all the key battleground states, has been re-elected as the US President.

Atlanta: US President Barack Obama has managed to win some key battleground states such as Iowa, New Hampshire and Wisconsin. The race for the White House has turned out to be a neck-and-neck contest between incumbent President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney.

In some of the key battleground states, which include Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio and Virginia, the fight is a close one. However, the US President appears to maintain his lead in most of these states.

According to CNN projection, President Barack Obama will win in New Hampshire, which has four electoral votes.

Meanwhile, the President is currently maintaining a lead in Colorado, which has nine electoral votes. Around 50 per cent of the votes have been counted in Colorado. While Obama has 51 per cent of the votes, Mitt Romney has 48 per cent votes.

The contest between Obama and Romney is the closest in Florida where as much as 87 per cent of the votes have been counted. The US President is currently leading with a slender margin.

However, in Ohio, the incumbent President has managed a comfortable lead. With almost 54 per cent of the votes counted, Barack Obama has 51 per cent of the votes while Mitt Romney had 48 per cent of the votes. Ohio has 19 electoral votes.
