HYDERABAD: N Vijayalakshmi, widow of Mahaboobnagar Congress MLA N Rajeshwar Reddy who died of heart attack recently, has decided to stay out out contest in the by-election for the seat.Vijayalakshmi has been giving Congress the jitters by saying that she would file nomination papers as an independent because the party nomina t ed Muthy a l a Prakash as its candidate, ignoring her claim.Rajeshwar Reddy won the the seat as an independent in 2009 and later became an associate member of the Congress.He contested as an independent afailing to secure Praja Rajyam ticket.Information and public relations minister DK Aruna, who conferred with Vijayalakshmi at Mahaboobnagar on Sunday, managed to convince her into staying out of contest.Vijayalakshmi wanted the party give her and her husband’s supporters due recognition in the party.Aruna later told newsmen: “Vijayalakshmi has decided to support the Congress candidate.We are all together.I will take her request to the notice of the chief minister and the PCC president.” The prominent candidates in the fray are Muthyala Prakash (Cong), P Chandrasekhar (TDP) and Syed Ibrahim (TRS).
