VISAKHAPATNAM: Boys bagged all the top 10 ranks in the Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET-2011), results of which were released on Thursday. However, girls had a higher qualified per cent (90.59) than boys (89.98) in the test held for admission into MBA and MCA courses in government universities and affiliated colleges. Releasing the results of ICET-2011 here on Thursday, Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University Beela Satyanarayana said out of total 1,40,210 students who appeared for the test, 1,26,454 qualified, registering a pass per cent of 90.19.ICET-2011, conducted by AU for the third consecutive time, was held at 276 centres in the State on May 18. This year, there was no change in the pattern of the test as previous year.Padda Pradeep Reddy of Hyderabad bagged the top rank with 185 marks out of 200. Though Aditya Kiran Nori of Hyderabad also secured 185 marks, he was declared second as he scored less than Pradeep in analytical ability. Pillutla Anirudha Asish of Guntur got third rank with 183 marks.Other top rankers included Jinka Pandu Ranga Nayak Yadav of Hyderabad (181 marks), Areef Ali Shaik of Srikakulam (181), MVSS Sharma of Viskhapatnam (181), CNA Chandra of Ganapavaram in West Godavari (181), M Jaya Simha of Hyderabad (180), Suhel Ahmed Khaday Y Syed of Bangalore (180) and P Rahul of Visakhapatnam (180).Four boys from Hyderabad and two from Visakhapatnam figured in top 10 while K Lavanya of Vijayawada (11th rank with 179 marks) and P Navya of Kakinada (19th rank with 172 marks) were two girls who got places among the top 20. Majority of successful candidates are from BE or BTech stream. Of minority communities, 11,762 Muslim candidates qualified in the examination. Out of them 3,563 are women. Similarly, 2,518 Christian students passed the test including 1,047 women.Among universities, AU scored highest success rate at 91.46 per cent followed by Osmania University with 89.83 per cent and Sri Venkateswara University with 89.72 per cent.Among regional centres, Guntur topped with 92.24 per cent of success followed by Vizianagaram with 91.95 per cent, Visakhapatnam 91.58 cent, Hyderabad 91.29 per cent and Vijayawada 91.09 per cent. Original rank cards will be sent within ten days to students and they can get printed copies of e-rank cards from the website from June 12 onwards. Final key will be available on www.icet2011.net.Candidates need to preserve the original hall ticket and rank card at the time of counselling, which is likely to be held in July.
