MANGALORE: In order to ensure that the state government machinery works like a well-oiled machine, a meeting of ministers and officials from  25 government departments had been convened in Bangalore on August 16 and 17, CM DV Sadananda Gowda informed media at Dharmasthala on Saturday.Arriving at Dharmasthala, he said he was aware that some of the policies were anti-people.“I have set up a team of three senior officials in each department who will identify such anti-people policies and submit a report to me and chief secretary within a fortnight. Based on the report, some of the complex policies will be simplified in consultation  with legal experts,” he assured. “After all, the rules should help people and not push them to further miseries,” he remarked. The third phase of Cabinet expansion is likely to take place on August 15 in the presence of BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan. After consultations with former CM Yeddyurappa and Jagadish Shettar, seven more BJP MLAs are likely to be inducted into his ministry, revealed Sadananda Gowda. He added that maintaining an equilibrium in his ministry and ensuring pro-people governance were his priorities. Responding to a question, he said Tulu language is among 36 languages awaiting to be included in the eighth schedule of the Constitution. It is RBI’s report that Tulu language, if included in the eighth schedule, will have to be printed on currencies, which was a main stumbling block. “I have already submitted a memorandum to Union Minister Chidambaram to consider their proposal on including both Kodava and Tulu languages in the currencies,” he    informed.
