Yogakshema Sabha to stage dharna in Kottayam

KOTTAYAM:Taking a dig at Tamil Nadu for remaining insensitive to the Mullaperiyar issue, the Yogakshema Sabha on Wednesday announced its decision to stage  dharna here on Friday.The sabha also sought the Centre to initiate urgent steps to resolve the issue. The members from Idukki, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Alappuzha districts will take part in the dharna, Yogakshema Sabha president Akeeraman Kalidasan Bhattathiripad said. He said Tamil Nadu was not even bothered about the lives of Tamil-origin people residing in the basin districts of Mullaperiyar dam. He said the sabha’s units in other districts would also hold protests on the same day.The political, social and cultural leaders would express their solidarity with the sabha on the day, he said. District president E N Raman Namboodiri, state committee member A A Bhattathiripad and district committee member Manikuttan Namboodiri were present.
