Akshata Murty Made A Case For Sustainable Fashion In A Royal Blue Saree That She Wore For Diwali
Akshata Murthy's sustainable and minimalistic sartorial choice has the internet lauding for her and for the right things, of course

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s wife, Akshata Murty, has left a fashionable impression on audiences. Every time she steps out wearing a traditional attire, we can’t take our eyes off her. One such moment took place recently as Akshata visited London’s BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir along with her husband Rishi Sunak. The adorable couple visited the temple to offer prayers on the last weekend of the general election. For her sacred visit, Akshata chose to wear a royal blue silk saree. What stole our attention was her choice of sustainable fashion practice as she had worn the same number during Diwali celebrations last year.

Akshata Murty’s noteworthy royal saree is an ode to Indian culture. Featuring intricate gold embroidery on the borders and tassel adornments on the pallu, the six yards of elegance captivated onlookers’ attention. Akshata made a poised style statement and opted for a matching elbow-sleeved blouse. The blouse came with a bateau neckline and gold brocade embroidery echoing the unique pattern of an ethereal saree. The fashion mogul draped the saree in traditional style, pleating the pallu on her shoulder.

Akshata took a minimal route to style her ethereal outfit. With ornate bangles, a ring and gold hoop earrings, she elevated her saree. To finish off her look, she went for centre-parted loose locks and added a dose of glam with a berry pink lip shade.

For her last Diwali celebrations at 10 Downing Street, Akshata wore the same saree with different accessories. Unlike this time, she complemented the traditional number with dangling earrings, a Gandaberunda necklace and a stack of bangles. She radiated understated elegance with a neat bun and minimal makeup.

Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak also addressed the volunteers and community leaders during his recent visit to the temple. According to mediareports, the British Prime Minister said, “I am Hindu, and like all of you, I draw inspiration and comfort from my faith. I was proud to be sworn in as a member of Parliament on the ‘Bhagavad Gita’. Our faith teaches us to do our duty and not fret about the outcome as long as one does it faithfully.”
