Online reservation site OpenTable has released its list of the top 100 "hotspot" restaurants across the US for 2017, characterized as anything from bustling bar scene, live entertainment to dynamic ambience.

If you're looking for a boisterous new dining destination where you can gather with your friends -- or make new ones -- you might want to take a look at OpenTable's new list, which is based on the opinions of more than 10 million restaurant reviews submitted by OpenTable diners for 25,000 restaurants across the country.

Winning restaurants offer features like interactive dining experiences, live music, and buzzy, engaging atmospheres.

According to the list, Florida boasts the highest number of animated fun spots with 17 restaurants, followed by California (15), and New York and Ohio which tied with nine apiece.

"This year's winning restaurants are pulsing with energy from both diners and the eateries' atmospheres, creating an infectiously energetic dining experience," said Caroline Potter, OpenTable Chief Dining Officer.

"If you're looking for a spot where fun is always on the menu, look to one of these honorees."

Examples include the popular Beauty & Essex restaurant and lounge in New York, The Bazaar by José Andrés South Beach in Miami and the Girl & the Goat in Chicago.
