Actor Jiiva Launches Music Label To Support Independent Musicians And Directors

Actor Jiiva has launched Deaf Frog Records, a music label aimed at supporting independent musicians and short filmmakers. The label was introduced on 31 January. This launch event coincided with the 21st anniversary of Jiiva’s debut film, Aasai Aasaiyai.

Film personalities including Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Vishnu Vishal, Mirchi Shiva, Kalaiyarasan, Aadhav Kannadasan, Jithan Ramesh, music directors Vijay Antony and Santhosh Narayanan, producer Ishari K Ganesh and others were at the event on January 31.

Speaking to the audience, Actor Jiiva announced, “The introduction of the Deaf Frogs music label aims to produce songs and short films for independent artists. Supported by our parent company, Super Good Films, we’ve effectively introduced more than 40 new directors.”

The chief guests at the event unveiled numerous singles and short films during the event. Santhosh Narayanan and Killa K released the song Puriya Vai by an independent artist. Actor Vishnu Vishal unveiled the short film Paniyil Vizhum Kanal Kaatru and shared his thoughts. Jayam Ravi presented singer Kenisha’s song Ithai Yaar Solvaro. The documentary Folk Agenda by Ishari Ganesh, the song Every Girl by Vijay Antony, Mirchi Siva’s short film Ek Ladka Ek Ladki and a preview of Kalaiyarasan and Aadhav Kannadasan Inian’s web series Funtastic were also released during the event.

Vishnu Vishal, the maker of the short film Paniyil Vizhum Kanal Kaatru, reminisced about the early days of his film career, highlighting his journey. Vishnu Vishal highlighted his enduring 13-year friendship with Jiiva. Commending Deaf Frogs, he remarked, “Providing opportunities to new talent is inherent in his character, and his father has supported many such artists.” He expressed interest from his production company in collaborating with Deaf Frogs and conveyed his congratulations.

Actor Jayam Ravi unveiled the song Ithai Yaar Solvaro by independent singer Kenisha. He commended the substantial support independent artists receive on social media, highlighting the significance of having a mentor like Jiiva.
