Los Angeles: Lake Forest Entertainment and The Exchange have just agreed to finance the long-time planned biopic of late actor Steve McQueen.
And as the biopic, titled 'McQueen', has already got a greenlight, several A-list actors including Channing Tatum, Ryan Gosling, and Jeremy Renner are circling the project, reported Ace Showbiz.
In the meantime, James Gray is in the run as director for the film. The Exchange's Brian O'Shea and Jeff Bowler will produce with Graham Kaye's Lake Forest. "McQueen" will be based on the late actor's life, whose story he wrote on his own before his death at the age of 50 in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico from a heart attack following cancer
surgery.
It will be partly based on the 2010 biography "Steve McQueen: The Life And Legend of a Hollywood Icon", written by Marshall Terrill. Speaking of the upcoming biopic, Kaye said, "There is a diary that was kept by his nurse in Mexico who gave it to the
author of the book that was done on him by Marshall Terrill. "Something happened in McQueen's life that has been kept secret for a long time. We think we have a very interesting way into this story."
