Anil Kapoor has finally opened up about his alleged rift with filmmaker-brother, Boney Kapoor for not casting him in No Entry 2. Recently, Kapoor was interacting with the media during the Bigg Boss OTT 3 press conference when he was asked about the rift. However, the veteran actor refused to address the issue saying it was a “family matter.”
“Ghar ki baat hai, ghar mein rehne do. Use kya discuss karna (It’s a personal matter, why should we discuss it)?” Anil Kapoor said as quoted by Indian Express. When asked about Boney’s statement, the actor added, “Haan toh koi nahi. Aage badho (It’s okay. We should move on).” Even though Anil Kapoor was questioned further about the alleged rift, he maintained, “Dekho ghar ki baat ko kya discuss karna (Look, what is there to discuss about family matters). And, he (Boney) is never wrong.”
The reports of a rift between Anil Kapoor and Boney Kapoor made headlines earlier this year when the former was not announced as a cast in No Entry 2. The original No Entry starred Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, Bipasha Basu and Celina Jaitly. However, Anil will not be a part of the film’s sequel which will have Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Kapoor.
Later, Boney Kapoor revealed that Anil wanted to be a part of the sequel, but unfortunately, there was “no space”. He revealed that after the cast of No Entry 2 leaked, Anil got upset and was not talking to him. “Before I could tell my brother Anil about the No Entry sequel and the cast involved, he got angry as the news was already leaked. It was unfortunate that it was leaked. I know he wanted to be a part of the No Entry sequel, but there was no space. I wanted to explain why I did what I did,” Boney told Zoom in an interview.
Boney Kapoor further explained why he decided to cast Varun, Arjun and Diljit in the movie and revealed, “Varun and Arjun are great friends. Their chemistry could come out in the story, and Diljit is massive today. He has a great fan following. I wanted to make it relevant in today’s time. That’s why I did this casting.”
