Casting director Mukesh Chhabra has said that even though Virat Kohli is a ‘great actor’, he should never join films. The cricketer, who is married to actress Anushka Sharma, has appeared in several advertisements. However, in a recent interview, Chhabra shared that Kohli should stay away from films.
“He is already a great actor. He is from Delhi, he is a Punjabi. He has seen that life. He has handled success so beautifully. He has maintained himself on every level, competition, looks, fitness, mentally. He is a fan of Chole Bhature, he is a great guy,” Mukesh said.
The casting director further shared that Virat is ‘not cunning’ and therefore he must not try his luck as an actor. “He is also so funny. He will dance, mimic, his comic timing is great. He is doing very well in making the country proud, he should stay where he is and not join films. He should not join films even after retiring from his cricket career. He is genuinely a smart guy, not a cunning one,” he added.
Virat Kohli married Anushka Sharma in December 2017. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl in January 2021 and named her Vamika. In February this year, they became parents once again when they welcomed a baby boy. Back then, Anushka took to her Instagram handle and revealed that they had named the boy Akaay. “With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay and Vamika’s little brother into this world!” the couple announced. Reportedly, Anushka and Virat have now moved to London with their children.
While Virat is currently preparing for the upcoming test series against Bangladesh, Anushka Sharma will soon be seen in Chakda Xpress. It is a biopic on the life of cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The movie also marks her comeback to film after six years. She was last seen in Zero with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. The upcoming sports drama will be released on Netflix. However, its release date has not been announced as of now.
