There have been several discussions and heated debates about the most deserving films in 2014. The past year saw an interesting blend of films that won commercial success and critical acclaim. So while the big films got bigger, several offbeat projects also found several takers. In the second edition of IBNLive Movie Awards, we select nominees in various popular categories and allow our readers decide the outcome. These are the nominees for the Best Onscreen Couple category:
Naseeruddin Shah-Madhuri Dixit: This was new to the viewers. How could an old man Naseeruddin Shah romance the gorgeous, age-defying Madhuri Dixit in 'Dedh Ishqiya'? But when we watched them in the film, we were impressed, right?
Vidya Balan-Farhan Akhtar: From romance to fights, on-screen Bollywood couple Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar did justice to their roles in 'Shaadi Ke Side Effects'
Ranveer Singh-Priyanka Chopra: The over-the-top drama 'Gunday' was saved by the sizzling on-screen chemistry between its lead characters. Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra looked really great together. So did Ranveer and Arjun Kapoor, come to think of it.
Deepika Padukone-Arjun Kapoor: With a Instagram-ed look and feel to the entire movie 'Finding Fanny', Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor were entirely likeable and realistic throughout the film.
Shahid-Shraddha Kapoor: With the love story not forming the major part of the film, the on-screen chemistry of Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor provided some much-needed respite from the blood and gore in the critically-acclaimed film 'Haider'.
Rajinikanth-Sonakshi Sinha: Rajinikanth might way older than actress Sonakshi Sinha, but they made for an interesting pair in the recently-released film 'Lingaa'.
Jacqueline Fernandez-Salman Khan: It might have been hard to imagine Jacqueline Fernandez as a psychiatrist, but she did look very good on the big screen with Salman Khan in Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Kick'.
Sonam Kapoor-Fawad Khan: Sonam Kapoor and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan made for one of the cutest couples this year. He, as the uptight royal prince, and she, as the bubbly doctor.
