Jennifer Lopez BREAKS Silence on Life After Divorce With Ben Affleck: 'I'm Not Looking for Anybody'
Jennifer Lopez opens up about life after divorce with Ben Affleck, her new movie Unstoppable and learning to embrace flying solo in a new interview.

Jennifer Lopez is embracing a new chapter of self-discovery after her split from Ben Affleck, and she’s not in a rush to find love again. In a candid conversation with comedian Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine, published on October 9, Lopez opened up about her personal journey, upcoming film, and the lessons she’s learned through a challenging year.

At 55, Lopez reflects on life’s constant cycle of growth, describing it as an ongoing process. “It’s a lifelong process,” she explained, saying that her quest for self-understanding is far from over. “There’s no arrival point. There’s only getting better and growing if you want to. It’s either growing or dying, and I don’t want to do the dying part.”

The Marry Me star shared that despite having moments where she thought she had life figured out, new challenges would arise to test her growth. “Life goes, ‘Let’s send you another thing and see if you really have learned that lesson.’ And I hadn’t.”

Speaking about her current relationship status, Lopez, who filed for divorce from Affleck in August 2024, revealed she’s content flying solo for now. “Now I’m excited… I’m not looking for anybody because everything that I’ve done over the past 25, 30 years… what can I f—ing do when it’s just me flying on my own? What if I’m just free?”

Beyond her personal reflections, Lopez is also celebrating professional milestones. Last month, her new film Unstoppable received a standing ovation at its Toronto International Film Festival premiere. She expressed her pride in the project: “The movie’s really beautiful… I got to see it with the audience, and people loved it and really responded to the emotion of the movie.”

Unstoppable, a biopic produced by Affleck and Matt Damon’s company Artists Equity, tells the inspiring story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and went on to win an NCAA championship. Lopez portrays his mother, Judy Robles.

As Lopez continues to reflect on life post-Affleck, she shared with Glaser that the real work lies in understanding oneself. “The work is figuring yourself out… it’s looking back at the feelings underneath and the belief systems that we have about ourselves that make us make certain choices.”
