Bollywood director Vasan Bala, preparing for the release of his film Jigra, issued an apology to Shraddha Kapoor and her fans for not tagging her in a social media post where he praised Stree 2. He faced criticism for mentioning everyone but Shraddha in his appreciation. On Sunday, the teaser for Jigra, featuring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, dropped online, and Shraddha shared it on her Instagram stories, showering the film with praise.
Taking to social media, Shraddha Kapoor wrote, “Ye toh theatre mein bhai ke saath dekhna hai. Kya kamaal ladki hai @aliaabhatt…Kya amazing trailer hai @vasanbala #Jigra”.
After Shraddha praised Jigra, fans noticed Vasan Bala hadn’t tagged her in his Stree 2 post, even though she complimented him. Bala quickly responded to her post and apologised to her fans for the mistake. “Thank you so much Shraddha, hope you and Siddhanth enjoy the film too,” he wrote. He then went on to apologise to her fans for not tagging her in the Stree 2 post. “And unrelated but I’ll take this opportunity to address – sorry to your fans…Bhool chuk maaf,” he added.
Starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi, Stree 2 hit theatres on August 15 and impressed audiences. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 sees Rajkummar and Shraddha reprise their roles from the original. The sequel continues the eerie tale in the town of Chanderi, now haunted by a new terror, Sarkata. The townspeople once again turn to Stree for salvation. The film also features several surprise cameos, including Varun Dhawan as Bhediya, who shares a special song with Shraddha Kapoor.
Stree 2 clashed at the box office with Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. Despite this, Stree 2 managed to gather audience’s attention. Produced by Maddock Films, the film has turned into an all-time blockbuster. Stree 2 has earned over Rs 500 crore at the Indian box office as of now.
