Actress Kangana Ranaut is set to fight the Lok Sabha election from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi on the BJP’s ticket. Last month, the Saffron Party released its fifth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls fielding Kangana, who is a staunch supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from her birthplace. Just a day after her nomination, Supriya Shrinate from Congress had made derogatory remarks against the actress. Amid this, Kangana stands strong as evident from her latest social media post.
On Friday, Kangana Ranaut shared a video on her Instagram handle that comprised glimpses from her election campaign and snippets of Supriya Shrinate and others who made derogatory remarks against her. In the background, an impassioned dialogue from her film played. The dialogue dubbed herself as Draupadi. It went like, “Aaj tune jaise bhari saba mein apmaan Kia hai, waisa hi cheer haran Kauravo ne Draupadi ka kia tha. Woh satta ki ladai bhi woh jeeti thi. Ye satta ki ladai bhi main jeetungi.” The caption for the montage read, “ये लड़ाई सिर्फ मेरी नहीं है, ये लड़ाई है हम सबकी, ये लड़ाई है नारी सम्मान की, ये लड़ाई है हिमाचल की और अपने सम्मान की ये लड़ाई हिमाचल जीतकर रहेगा। (This fight is not just mine, this fight is all of ours, this fight is for the dignity of women, this fight is for Himachal and for our pride, Himachal will emerge victorious in this fight.)”
For the unversed, the now-taken down derogatory post on Instagram, which was made a day after the BJP fielded Kangana Ranaut from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, showed a photo of scantily-clad Kangana Ranaut, with a derogatory caption.
However, Supriya Shrinate later claimed that the social media post was made by someone who had access to her Facebook and Instagram accounts. She also blamed a parody account that was misusing her name on X. Ranaut had responded to the derogatory post on social media, saying “every woman deserves her dignity”.
Meanwhile, on the acting front, After attending the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram to announce the release date of her upcoming film “Emergency.” Kangana has both directed and written the movie. Additionally, Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan have reunited for an upcoming pan-India psychological thriller. Sharing a selfie with Madhavan, Kangana expressed her excitement, writing, “Back with my fav @actormaddy for another stunning script.”
