Kangana Ranaut was offered Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan, which became huge successes at the box office. However, the actress rejected both roles, much to Salman’s surprise. Despite this, they maintain a cordial relationship. Kangana Ranaut is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film, Emergency. Kangana is not only the lead in the film but has also directed it. In a recent chat, she revealed that Salman Khan called her to tell her she had made a good film. Kangana also praised Salman for his kindness.
Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, Kangana recalled rejecting both films and said, “Salman offered me a role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, I was like ‘Yeh kya role diya hai?’ He then approached me for Sultan. I didn’t take that up. He was like ‘What more do I offer to you now?’” While Kareena Kapoor and Anushka Sharma did the films respectively, Kangana and Salman kept in touch.
Kangana said, “Salman is so kind, he keeps talking to me. Even now, for Emergency, he said, ‘I have to see.’ So then he sent our common friend and said, ‘You go and see what kind of a film she has made.’ I showed it to him. He called me and said, ‘It’s a good film.’ I asked, ‘You have received the feedback but you didn’t watch it?’ He said, ‘No.’ That’s how he talks to me.”

Kangana has often spoken kindly about Salman Khan. At the trailer launch of Emergency in Mumbai recently, Kangana Ranaut was quizzed about whether she looks at herself as a one-woman army and relates to Salman Khan’s struggles with being misunderstood in Bollywood.
Kangana said, “Agar Salman ji ko dekhein unki kitni fan following hai, kitna pyaar karte hain log unse. I think he is right now the top most, the most-loved star in the country. Jin logon ko unse pyaar hai, unse pyaar hai. Ab jin logon ki aankhon mein woh khatakte hain, woh to unse nafrat karenge hi. Jo log unki competition ke hain ya film industry walon ki baat kar rahe hain, na unki aankhon mein to woh khatkeinge. Hum unki jagah pe hone chahiye ya woh uss jagah pe kyun hai, to aise to logon ki aankhon mein woh khatkeinge (If you look at Salman ji, he has such a huge fan following, and people love him so much. Those who love him will continue to love him. But those who find him bothersome will obviously hate him — whether it’s his competitors or people in the film industry. In their eyes, he will always be a source of irritation. If we were in his place or if people question why he is in that position, then, of course, he will be bothersome to them).”
Kangana Ranaut’s directorial film Emergency will be released in cinemas on September 6 this year.
