Actor Karthik Kumar has reacted to his former wife Suchitra’s claims regarding his sexuality. Recently, Karthik dropped a video on his Instagram handle and clarified that he isn’t homosexual. Even though he did not name his former wife, Karthik mentioned that if he was gay, he would not hide it. He also urged everyone to be proud of their sexuality.
“If I am a homosexual, no? I would not be ashamed of being homosexual. I would be very very proud to be any kind of sexual in the gigantic and glorious spectrum of sexuality that exists out there. I would not be ashamed. I would be proud. I would join a pride rally in my city, which I anyway will. All kinds of sexualities join the pride rally and show your support. There is no shame anymore. There’s just pride. Be proud,” he said.

Soon after the video was shared, several fans reacted to it and praised the actor for supporting the LGBTQ+ community. “Love you for saying this, KK. You’re truly one of a kind,” one of the fans wrote. “I remember in one of your interviews, you were talking about your ex-wife in an extremely kind and caring manner. It’s very bad that she has spoken really horrible about you and cursed you etc .. felt very sad to watch that,” added another. “Well said! It is none of their business anyways,” a third comment read.
Karthik Kumar and Suchitra got married in 2005. However, the two parted ways in 2017. Back then, in an interview with a Tamil news channel, Suchitra called Karthik a “wonderful person” and said, “He has virtues of Lord Rama. I know we are going through a divorce. It’s very painful for all of us concerned but it is due to some unsolvable problems.”
On the work front, Suchitra is a popular playback singer. She was last seen on Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4. On the other hand, Karthik Kumar recently produced and performed a stand-up special titled Aansplaining.
