Marvel’s WandaVision Spinoff Agatha All Along Gets A Release Date
At the Disney upfront, makers confirmed the official title of Kathryn Hahn's Agatha spinoff series, while also unveiling the release date.

After several title changes, the much-awaited Marvel Studios series and WandaVision spinoff featuring Kathryn Hahn has got a title. At Disney’s May 14 upfront presentation, the makers revealed the official title of the series, i.e., Agatha All Along. Hahn, along with her co-stars Joe Locke and Patti LuPone, took to the stage to make the revelation. They also confirmed the release date of the show, stating that it will premiere with two episodes on September 18.

Prior to the official title, the company played a lot around the official title with names like House of Harkness, Coven of Chaos and Darkhold Diaries. Recently, another title was tossed around on social media, suggesting Agatha: The Lying Witch With Great Wardrobe.

With a teaser flashing through the previous titles, Agatha’s theme plays in the background. The song debuted in the seventh episode of WandaVision, becoming an overnight sensation. Meanwhile, Hahn’s hilarious performance in the show also made Agatha Harkness the breakout character, prompting makers to bring a spinoff on the witch.

Speaking to Deadline, Kathryn Hahn opened up about the series and shared that she felt thrilled about Jac Schaeffer’s writing. “It was very important to her and Mary Livanos, our producer, that there be minimal CGI, so there’s very little that is not practical magic or just our magic, so that was a very exciting thing to set up that we were able to prove again and again we could do it. So, it’s minimal CGI, but that was very thrilling. The sets are incredible. It just felt delicious. It was a very immersive experience,” she said.

LuPone also joined in and added that the show looks like a “$100 million movie.”

More about Agatha All Long

It is said to take place after the events of WandaVision, with Hahn’s character stripped of her powers by Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff. A short teaser drops hints at how Agatha tries to bring together a team of witches to gain her powers back. Further details about the plot have been kept under wraps.

Besides Hahn, Locke, and LuPone, the spin-off series will also feature Aubrey Plaza, comedian Sasheer Zamata, Emma Caulfield and Debra Jo Rupp. Also returning is Jac Schaeffer, who is writing and directing Agatha All Along.

Now set for a September release, the show was initially scheduled to premiere last year but was pushed back due to Hollywood strikes.
