Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s latest release, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, has created a significant buzz at the box office, smashing records and entering the coveted Rs 600 crore club. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film hit theatres on December 22, 2023, and went head-to-head with Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, which was released a day earlier on December 21, 2023. Despite the clash, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire has demonstrated exceptional staying power, crossing the Rs 600 crore milestone within 10 days of its release.

Salaar stars Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in leading roles, with a supporting cast featuring Shruti Haasan, Eshwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Tinnu Anand, and Jagapathi Babu. Released in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi, the film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. Director Prashanth Neel’s collaboration with Prabhas in this action-packed movie has been eagerly anticipated by fans since its announcement.
The film’s first-day box office performance was remarkable, garnering Rs 95 crore domestically and a total worldwide collection of Rs 178.7 crore. Notably, the opening day figures surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 mega-hits Pathaan and Jawan, which collected Rs 106 crore and Rs 129 crore, respectively.
As the audience revels in the success of Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, attention is already turning to the sequel, Salaar: Part 2 – Shauryanga Parvam. Currently in the development stage, filming for the sequel is slated to commence in March 2024.
