The weekend gone by saw the origin of the most viral meme of 2018 yet with actor Priya Prakash Varrier becoming a star overnight with just her glances and expressions. It all started when a small snippet of the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi from the upcoming Malayalam film Oru Adaar Love was unveiled on social media and men all over the country started flooding the social media with memes and love notes for the actor. Released during the Valentine week, the song has caught the fancy of many. In an exclusive interaction with CNN-News18, Varrier shared her elation over the clip going viral and has now received offers from Malayalam, Tamil film industries as well as Bollywood.
“It happened spontaneously. This is my debut film and the director just asked me to give expressions and it just went viral."
She further shared that her family and friends are excited. “My friends and teachers are very excited, happy and proud. I want to thank all people who gave me love and support. I need prayers too. We are happy but don't know how to handle all this," she said.
Varrier shared that she always wanted to be an actor and her aim is to work with Padmaavat director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. “I would definitely want to work in Bollywood. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the director I would want to work with. I have got a lot of offers from Malayalam, Tamil and Bollywood. But I have not signed any other movie yet."
Interestingly, the actor who has gone viral, doesn’t have a Twitter account yet but is quite active on other social media platforms including Instagram and Facebook.
While the complete song is out, the next teaser of the film is slated to release soon. The film revolves around the love story of two students and warmth of friendship.
