Actress Zareen Khan shared her experience working with Salman Khan in Veer (2010) and Ready (2011). She felt a bit intimidated by Salman but was also taken aback by his kindness on set.
Talking to comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiya, Zareen said that there was always some fear around Salman, more like intimidation. She said he would often break the ice if he felt Zareen was feeling scared.
Zareen shared, “Salman ke saath toh hamesha hee woh darr rehta hai (there is always some sort of fear one feels around Salman). More than fear, intimidation. But Salman is such a good person, he never made me feel that way. If he realised that I was intimidated by him then he would say something or do something to make me feel better. I was like a creep around him during the shoot. I remember in-between shots, in the resting period, he would sit outside his vanity with the crew and I would sit there with them too. Salman would be doing his thing and and I would keep staring at him and he would ask me, ‘kya hua? (What happened?)’ and I would say, ‘I can’t believe I am sitting opposite you. I’ve only seen you in movies and my whole family is a huge fan’.”
She also shared how, before entering movies and being discovered by Salman, he was chased by her during his bike rides in Mumbai’s Bandra. She recalled that when in college, his bike rides on Carter Road led to her chasing him. She recalled, “I remember how he would ride his cycle on Carter Road (Bandra, Mumbai), and I had chased him. I am sure he doesn’t even remember because I was double or triple my size. And suddenly I am sitting opposite Salman Khan. So I would keep thinking about all that and would keep staring at him. I never thought (I’d one day work with him).”
