Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu is turning producer with a new comedy film. Now, there is an official title and a first-look poster for the film, which were recently revealed by the makers.
The new film is titled ED-Extra Decent and along with the announcement of the title, a first-look poster was also released, in which Suraj is seen in an all-new guise with glasses and without his ever-present moustache, along with Grace Antony, Premalu fame Shyam Mohan, Vinaya Prasad and Sudheer Karamana. The poster suggests that it will be a comedy film.
ED – Extra Decent is directed by Aamir Pallikkal, who previously directed the Manju Warrier film Ayisha (2023). The screenplay is by Ashif Kakkodi, who has already written the films Ayisha and Momo In Dubai (2023). The project was officially launched on May 26 with an official clap-on ceremony and a pooja, which was also attended by the cast and crew of the film. The ceremony was held at the famous Sri Mookambika Temple in Kollor, the director revealed on social media where he announced the film.
ED-Extra Decent is jointly produced by Suraj’s new production banner Vilasini Cinemas and Listin Stephens Magic Frames. The upcoming film also stars Grace Antony, Shyam Mohan (Premalu), Dilina Ramakrishnan, Sajin Cherukayil, Vinaya Prasad, Sudheer Karamana, Prashanth Alexander, Vineeth Thattil David and Shaju Sreedhar in prominent roles. Cinematography is by Sharon Sreenivas, editing by Sreejith Sarang and music by Ankit Menon.
Suraj Vasudevan, known professionally as Suraj Venjaramoodu, is an Indian actor, comedian, impersonator and television presenter who appears in Malayalam films, television and stage plays. He has acted in more than 250 films. He has won a National Film Award and three Kerala State Film Awards.
Suraj started his career as a stand-up comedian. His mimicry shows were a hit with audiences and he was known for his artificial mockery of the Thiruvananthapuram accent. Later, he was criticised for this by some viewers during his early film career. His first role was in a film called Jagapoga, which was a parody of Malayalam films.
