SRK Calls Himself 'Outsider', Takes A Dig At 'Nepo Kid' Vicky Kaushal: 'Industry Ke Bachche...'
Shah Rukh Khan teased Vicky Kaushal about being a nepo kid. The superstar said that he didn't need a godfather to become an actor.

Shah Rukh Khan and Vicky Kaushal recently co-hosted the IIFAs together and brought the house down with their electrifying chemistry. In one such light-hearted moment, Shah Rukh Khan took a dig at Vicky Kaushal for being a nepo kid. Vicky is the son of Sham Kaushal, a prolific stunt director in Bollywood.

Shah Rukh Khan joked on stage that he rejected films like Spiderman, Avengers and Jurassic Park. Vicky joked that Francis Ford Coppola must have offered The Godfather to Shah Rukh Khan before anyone else. “Coppola saab bhi Godfather leke pehle Mannat hi aaye honge? (Coppola must have brought Godfather to Mannat first?),” asked Vicky and Shah Rukh quipped, “Coppola ne bohot chakkar lagaye (Coppola visited a few times) but I told him ‘I don’t need a godfather, I am an outsider and not a nepo like someone we know’ (points at Vicky). Industry ke bachche, idhar udhar kya dekh raha hai? (Nepo kid, why are you looking around)?”

Vicky pulled Shah Rukh’s leg later on the show and asked why he chose to do Imtiaz Ali’s film Jab Harry Met Sejal. The superstar said, “Voh meri doosri galti thi. Har kisi ko teen galtiyan allowed hain (That was my second mistake. Everyone is allowed to make three mistakes).” He added, “Aisi picture kabhi mat karna jiske title mein uski kahani ho (Don’t ever do a film where the story is in the title). ‘Harry met Sejal’ picture khatam. ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ picture khatam. The Great Indian Family…” Vicky chimed in, “Picture khatam.”

Meanwhile, after the show, Vicky shared a series of heartwarming photos from the event, with the first showing him hugging Shah Rukh from behind as SRK planted a kiss on his cheek. He captioned the carousel, “From growing up watching him create magic with his hosting and performances on stage… to last night, sharing the stage and being part of the same magic… I lived many dreams! Thank you @iamsrk Sir. There’s no one like you, there never will be.”

The bond between the two actors was evident not only in the photos but also in the viral videos from the night. One standout clip featured them dancing to “Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam” from Shah Rukh Khan Duplicate, which was reprised in Vicky’s recent film Bad Newz. They even turned up the fun by dancing to “Oo Oo Antava” from Pushpa, much to the delight of the audience.
