Previously too, Taha Shah defended Sharmin Segal and argued that it is not fair for the audience to compare her with Manisha Koirala or Aditi Rao Hydari because they are much more experienced.

Taha Shah Badussha has opened up about meeting Sharmin Segal amid her Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar trolling. The two recently spoke to each other at the success bash of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial. Sharmin has been facing criticism for her performance in Heeramandi, in which she plays the role of Alamzeb i.e. Taha’s love interest.

Taha Shah was speaking to Hindustan Times recently when he revealed that Sharmin was “very happy” when they met at Heeramandi’s success bash. The actor called her a “strong person” and claimed that she is “get through this” phase of negativity.

“I spoke to her at the success party and she was very happy. Sharmin is a very strong person and she knows exactly what she is doing. She will get through this. There are so many people have also liked her performance. Whenever I have worked with her, I have seen her give her best. You can’t really demand more from a person,” Taha said.

“I am no one to speak about how the audience perceives something, that is in no one’s control. I have been on the other side as well, when the audience didn’t accept me, but now I have been accepted, so it’s a journey. It’s a phase that many people have to go through,” the 36-year-old actor added.

This is not the first time that Taha Shah has opened up about Sarmin Segal’s trolling. Previously too, the actor defended his on-screen lover and told Zoom, “I know she’s given her best as an actor. I didn’t anticipate receiving this much love and appreciation for my role, hence the audience can be quite unpredictable to be honest. As far as Sharmin and her performance are concerned, I’ve literally lived with her on the sets. She was always punctual and tried to do her best. How it comes off to the audience, is a different ball game and I can’t comment on them. But I know that she has got a great heart. She was always present on the set and as an actor, that’s what you all need.”

Taha Shah further argued that it is not fair for the audience to compare Sharmin with her co-stars like Manisha Koirala or Aditi Rao Hydari because they have much more experience than her. “Manisha ma’am has worked with the best of the best directors and best of the best actors. People learn over time. If the audience has found fault in Sharmin, she will do even better. I know she wants to and is eager to learn,” he said.
