Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited film Greatest of All Time (GOAT) hit the theatres on September 5, 2024. As per reports, the movie has opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences and is all set to become one of the highest-opening Tamil films of 2024.
Meanwhile, several reports claimed that the film has been leaked on several torrent sites, along with WhatsApp and Telegram. Now, if the GOAT movie has been leaked in HD on torrent sites for free download, it would turn out to be a threat to the makers of the film as it might affect the box office collection. This incident has caused a great shock in the film industry.
As per law, piracy is illegal in India, and the filmmakers along with the officials have been trying their best to mitigate the threat of piracy. Furthermore, it is not the first film to have fallen prey to piracy; recently released films such as Animal and Sam Bahadur, among others, have been pirated online for free.
The first show of GOAT was screened at 9 AM in Tamil Nadu, while in Kerala, the first show was held at 4 AM. The film was released across around 700 theatres in Tamil Nadu. The state administration approved a special screening yesterday. It was also released in several foreign countries.
Talking about the state of Karnataka, the first screening was held at 6 AM. Around seven shows will be held in Kerala in more than 500 theatres. A special screening was reportedly held for some prominent personalities who expressed their satisfaction after watching the film.
Reports suggest that fans flocked to theatres in droves from early morning to catch the highly anticipated film. In Tamil Nadu, the enthusiasm was evident as crowds began gathering the previous night, highlighting the film’s immense popularity.
The Tamil action thriller film The Greatest of All Time is directed by Venkat Prabhu and backed by AGS Entertainment. The film stars Vijay in dual roles, alongside Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Ajmal Ameer, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren and Yugendran in other pivotal roles.
As per reports, GOAT is made on a budget of Rs 400 crore and it is AGS’ most expensive film.
