Song Joong Ki, a renowned South Korean actor, is currently in discussions to take on the lead role in an upcoming drama titled My Youth. The series, penned by Park Shi Hyun, known for her work on the popular drama Run On, is gathering attention for its potential cast. Chun Woo Hee, celebrated for her role in The Atypical Family, is also slated to join the cast as the female lead opposite Song Joong Ki. The drama is anticipated to attract viewers with its promising storyline and talented cast members.
Sharing more details about the impending collaboration of the two actors, Chun Woo Hee’s agency BLITZWAY Studios, stated that My Youth, “is one of the projects that [Chun Woo Hee] is reviewing the offer for,” as quoted by Soompi. Earlier this year, reports of Song Joong Ki being roped in for the show circulated, which created a lot of buzz among his fans. According to OSEN, the acclaimed actor was in talks to star in the upcoming drama My Youth in January 2024, which is also being produced by his agency, HighZium Studios.
My Youth revolves around the narrative of Seon Woo Hae and Sung Je Yeon, who reconnect after 15 years and navigate life’s challenges with vigor, each facing their struggles. Scripted by Park Si Hyun and produced by HighZium Studio, the drama is set to be directed by Lee Sang Yeop, known for his work on Yumi’s Cells, Familiar Wife and Shopaholic Louis. The series promises to captivate audiences with its compelling storyline.
Song Joong Ki is known for mesmerising fans in hit dramas like Descendants of the Sun, Reborn Rich and others. In addition to his small-screen success, he made a major performance in the film Hopeless, which premiered at the prestigious 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
