Veteran singer P Susheela, known for giving superhits in several languages, was recently hospitalised in Chennai, sending a wave of concern and worry in the industry. Now, according to a new update shared by the singer, she is back home with good health.

Last week, reports surfaced that the singer was experiencing ill health has been admitted to a hospital in Chennai. The reports stated further that she was hospitalised due to old age and the condition of kidney failure. So, updating on her condition and delighting her fans and well-wishers, Susheela released a video, sharing she is doing well. She thanked all the doctors and nurses involved in her treatment and care, also asking the fans to be wary of any news coming out related to her well-being.

In the video, the legendary veteran vocalist stated, “I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses who took care of the hospital with great care.” She concluded with the words, “There are no words to thank them for their affection and concern. My heartfelt thanks to the millions of loving hearts who have prayed for my recovery.” The video is now going viral among fans across the country.

The 88-year-old P Susheela holds a Guinness World Record for singing more than 40,000 songs in multiple languages. She has given her voice in languages like Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and more. As per the information given, she recorded more than 4000 duets with a fellow singing legend, S P Balasubrahmanyam. The two reportedly recorded 19 duets in a day, along with a few solo songs.

She has been a recipient of 5 National Awards and numerous other accolades in a career spanning across six decades. She has given her voice to 100 Hindi songs, 120 Sanskrit songs, and 9 songs in the Sinhalese language. In 1969, she became the first female playback singer to receive a National Award.
