Pop icon Lady Gaga is all set to be seen in the much-awaited film Joker 2. The film will hit the theatres this October, and in India, it will be released on October 2. Lady Gaga, who stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the movie, also has a special soundtrack album for the upcoming film Joker: Folie a Deux. The album is named Harlequin and it hints at a significant shift in Gaga’s artistic direction and features both reimagined Joker soundtracks and original compositions created for the film.

On September 25, Lady Gaga graced the red carpet for the premiere of her upcoming film Joker: Folie a Deux in London. Following the premiere, Gaga hosted a private listening party for her new album, Harlequin, which will be released on Friday, September 27. The 13-track album will be released under her label Lil Monsters LLC in collaboration with Interscope Records as a special nod to her loyal fanbase, known as “Little Monsters.”

At the listening party, Gaga enjoyed every bit of her compositions with her fans in her usual cheeky style. A video of her dancing with her fans at the Harlequin listening party went viral on social media. Dressed in a casual striped shirt dress layered with a black camisole, the singer-actor grooved to the music along with her fans.

Previously, Gaga teased her fans about her upcoming album by sharing its teaser on her X account. The Harlequin soundtrack offers a range of moods and styles. It combines classics like Get Happy (2024) and That’s Life with original tracks like The Joker and Folie a Deux.

In anticipation of the big reveal of her upcoming soundtrack, Gaga posted multiple message posts on Instagram. While one read, “I’m ready for my interview,” another one stated, “Don’t dictate my attire.” The following post, alongside background music created by acoustic guitar, read, “No duct tape. No agenda.” After all this, finally, on September 25, she announced Harlequin’s soundtrack with a ravishing picture of herself. The caption, along with the picture, read, “Harlequin. September 27. A companion album to Joker: Folie a Deux.”

The actor-singer-songwriter will play Lee, based on Harley Quinn, in Joker: Folie a Deux. She is cast opposite Joaquin Phoenix, who will reprise his role as Arthur Fleck, the failed comedian whose descent into madness transforms him into the notorious Joker. Gaga will be seen as the Joker’s accomplice and lover.
