Zeenat Aman Reveals Being Intimidated By Rajesh Khanna, Says 'I Mugged Up All My Lines So That...'
Zeenat Aman recalled being intimated by the legendary actor Rajesh Khanna and how she managed to keep her calm.

Zeenat Aman, known for her elegance and confidence, surprisingly admitted to feeling intimidated by the late actor Rajesh Khanna during the early days of her career. In a recent interview, she shared that she would meticulously memorize all her lines to avoid any missteps in front of the superstar.

The veteran actress told Film Companion, “I remember when I had just started in the film industry and Rajesh Khanna was the phenomenon. Oh my god, I mugged up all my lines so that I wouldn’t flub a single thing. I was totally intimidated by him but did I show him? Not at all. I went to him and I performed. So when I went back to my makeup room, I was like, ‘Wow. I just gave a shot with a superstar.’ I think that’s the right attitude to have.”

Zeenat highlighted the significance of maintaining focus on the performance itself rather than getting overwhelmed by the presence of superstars when collaborating with them. In her words, she stressed the value of staying grounded and channeling one’s energy into delivering a compelling performance, regardless of the stature of co-stars.

During the 1970s, Zeenat Aman and Rajesh Khanna graced the silver screen together in several timeless classics such as Ajanabee, Chhailla Babu, Jaanwar, and Aashiq Hoon Baharon Ka. Their on-screen chemistry and memorable performances captivated audiences and left a lasting impact on the Indian film industry. These films continue to be cherished by fans, showcasing the magic created when two legends come together in cinematic harmony.

Zeenat Aman is all set to star in Manish Malhotra’s directorial debut Bun Tikki. She will be seen sharing the screen space with Shabana Azmi. Zeenat and Shabana previously shared screen space in Ishk Ishk Ishk (1974) and Ashanti (1982). Bun Tikki also stars Abhay Deol. Manish shared a picture of these three actors on Instagram and provided details about the project.
