Filmmaker Atlee is widely recognised for his distinctive storytelling prowess. Emotional narratives, impactful dialogues, and the inclusion of top stars characterise his films. Atlee is currently basking in the success of Jawan, a film featuring Shah Rukh Khan. While Atlee hasn’t officially disclosed details about his next film, he has ignited excitement by hinting at a potential two-hero project featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Thalapathy Vijay.
Confirming these speculations, the director has revealed that he is actively working on a script that will bring together these powerhouse talents. The prospect of witnessing two acclaimed actors collaborate under Atlee’s direction has generated considerable anticipation among fans and cinephiles alike.
While shooting the Zinda Banda song for Jawan in Chennai, a viral picture of Atlee with both superstars sparked rumours that Vijay might make a cameo appearance in the film. However, these speculations were later dismissed. On Atlee’s birthday during the song shoot, he invited Vijay for the celebration. During a conversation with popular Tamil TV presenter and YouTuber Gopinath, Atlee revealed, “So, when he came, Shah Rukh sir and Anna (Vijay) discussed between themselves and called me. Shah Rukh sir told me if I ever have plans of directing a dual hero film, they both are ready for it. Vijay Anna also said, ‘Ama pa’. So, I am working on it. It could be my next film.”
Atlee now shared his excitement and determination to bring Shah Rukh Khan and Thalapathy Vijay together on the screen. He said, “I am working very hard to come up with a script for it. Let’s see.”
In addition to the exciting prospect of a two-hero film, Atlee provided an update on his upcoming projects. Hollywood action choreographer Spiro Razatos, who worked on Jawan, organized a screening of the film for influential figures in Hollywood. Following this, Atlee revealed that a Hollywood studio has shown interest in collaborating with him for a future project.
Atlee’s directorial track record is impressive, boasting several blockbuster films in his career, including Raja Rani, Theri, Mersal, Bigil, and the recent Jawan featuring Shah Rukh Khan. The collaboration with SRK proved highly successful, grossing over Rs 1000 Crore at the box office. On the work front, SRK is gearing up for another major project, Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, featuring Taapsee Pannu.
