Shah Rukh Khan’s latest blockbuster Jawan finally released on September 7. The action thriller has taken over the entire nation. Amid this, Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2, which has been going strong at the box office, faced a significant decline on its 28th day. The much-anticipated sequel, Gadar 2 seems to have been overshadowed by the cinematic spectacle of Jawan. The film minted Rs 1.50 crore.
According to Sacnilk.com, which is published in Hindustan Times, Gadar 2 may earn ₹1.50 crore nett in India on its 28th day, as per early estimates. This will take the total collection of the film to ₹ 510.59 crore. In its first week Gadar 2 minted ₹ 284.63 crore, in the second week ₹ 134.47 crore, and in the third week ₹ 63.35 crore. Recently, the team of Gadar 2 held a press conference about the film’s huge success. Sunny was heard saying, “I was quite stressed before the release of the movie. When the movie was released, I cried and laughed the entire night. My father was around and he saw me. I told him, ‘I have not had alcohol. Main khush aa main ki kara (I am happy, what can I do)’.”
Talking about Jawan, According to a report in Sacnilk.com, Jawan earned Rs 65 crore nett in Hindi after record-breaking advance booking. Pathaan, on the other hand, had minted Rs 57 crore nett on its first day. Directed by Atlee, Jawan released worldwide in theatres on the occasion of Janmashtami (September 7). Meanwhile, Jawan also features Deepika Padukone in a special appearance. The film’s first show kicked off at 6 am amid massive celebrations.
