In a few moments from now, Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha will be ‘Mr and Mrs’. The two are currently taking their wedding vows in Udaipur. While several of Parineeti’s Bollywood friends have joined her on her special day, Karan Johar could not make it. While there were speculations that KJo might attend Parineeti and Raghav’s wedding, it has now been reported that the filmmaker had to opt out at the last moment due to a family emergency. A source close to Karan told Times Now Digital that a ‘family emergency forced Karan to skip the wedding’.
“Karan had every intention to attend the wedding as he is very fond of both Parineeti and Raghav, He was set to fly down to Udaipur on Sunday when a family emergency forced him to cancel the intended wedding festivities. Sad, because he had planned all his clothes for the functions so elaborately,” a source cited by the news portal claimed.
Parineeti’s cousin and global icon Priyanka Chopra also could not attend her wedding due to prior commitments. On Saturday, PeeCee took to her Instagram stories and shared a happy throwback photo of her cousin along with a sweet note. “I hope you are as happy and content as this on your big day little one.. always wishing you so much love #newbeginnings @parineetichopra @raghavchadha88,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, several big celebrities including Bhagyashree, Sania Mirza and ace Bollywood designer Manish Malhotra are in Udaipur to attend the much-awaited wedding. Politicians including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann have also turned baraatis for Raghav Chadha’s wedding with Parineeti.
Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha never publicly discussed their relationship unless they got engaged i.e. in May this year. Reportedly, the duo has known each other for several years. They were spotted together for several dinner dates. The duo studied together at the London School of Economics.
