Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi are all set for their thriller, Sriram Raghavan’s film, Merry Christmas. Amid promotions, the lead pair joined Mashable India’s The Bombay Journey on a road trip in and around Mumbai with the director.
During the interview, the host asked Katrina if she likes road trips. To this, she said, “I did Zindagi Naa Milega Dobara, that was a road trip to Spain. It is a life changing experience, that’s all I can say. I had learnt a little bit here on Reclamation [Bandra] when you used to be able to ride bikes late night. When asked who taught her, she said, “That will remain a secret".
Then, to just get a little more proficient, they actually sent me to the Ducati training school and in Spain when we were there – like, on the days off – so it kind of took my skill a little bit. After shooting the movie, when I came back to Bombay, I was so into riding bikes! I tried twice from my house in Bandra Yash Raj and that was it. I tried once and I was terrified the whole way. I just found it too overwhelming – the traffic, everything was too overwhelming. The second time I tried, and that was the last time I tried."
Katrina also mentioned that she gets car sick in low level vehicles. “It has to be an SUV, or I’ll get car sick in five minutes," she said. She also mentioned that a Toyota second-hand car was, in fact, her first car.
Meanwhile, the trailer of Merry Christmas is out now. The trailer begins with a montage of various clips. On Christmas Eve, Katrina encounters Vijay Sethupathi and playfully questions whether he is single or if he discreetly removed his wedding ring upon seeing her. Soon, they head to her residence, and events take an unexpected turn. She requests him to stay, hinting that appearances can be deceiving. The narrative unfolds over the course of one night in what looks like an intriguing and suspenseful dark thriller.
