Shah Rukh Khan is widely loved not just for his acting skills but for also his humble nature. In a recent interview, the Maan Meri Jaan singer King recalled what happened when he interacted with the Jawan actor for the first time over a video call for a collaboration. King was recently speaking to India Folk Project when he revealed how Shah Rukh Khan apologised to him with folded hands just because the superstar joined the video meeting a little late.
“I spoke to him on a video call and I couldn’t sleep for two days just out of excitement,” King recalled and then added, “He came a little late on the call. Honestly, it didn’t matter to me that he was late, he was there and that’s all that matters. But the first thing he did was, he folded his hands and said, ‘King, I am so sorry I’m late.’ I was sitting on the sofa and I sat on the floor. I folded my hands and I said, ‘Sir, please don’t do this.’”
“He said I want you to do something for me. He said, ‘King, if you don’t feel like it, tell me.’ He said whatever you are doing is great, you don’t need it. But if you feel like it, I really want that we work together,” the rapper further shared.
While King did not share information regarding his collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan, the singer appreciated the Dunki star for giving him the freedom to work on the project the way he wanted. “He gave me the authority that you make the song. He said. ‘I will change the script, you just make the song. I will not instruct you what to do.’ He knows how important it is to give freedom to an artist,” King said and concluded by teasing that he has a “great thing” coming up.
