Video Shows A Man Allegedly Doing Drugs In Ladies Coach Of A Mumbai Local Train

A video has emerged, reportedly, from a Mumbai local train, depicting an individual who, quite audaciously entered the ladies’ coach and appeared to be consuming drugs while standing on the footboard. He maintained his balance with minimal support and frequently brought a handkerchief close to his mouth and nose. Observers speculate that he may have been indulging in substance abuse by inhaling drugs from the cloth. A video of this incident has gained widespread attention after being shared on X (Formally Twitter). The video was uploaded on Wednesday evening.

The user who uploaded the video on X sought to draw the notice of relevant authorities to this matter and wrote, “System Need to be changed, Kindly Notice from Railway Ministry, Maharashtra Government & Mumbai Police.” This post has not only caught the attention of numerous online users, as well as politicians and law enforcement officials.

In response to the video, the official Central Railway handle promptly urged the Divisional Railway Manager to take the matter into consideration. Simultaneously, the Mumbai Police tagged the Government Railway Police of the city, initiating an inquiry into the incident.

Apart from the authorities, Supriya Sule, a Lok Sabha MP and the working NCP President, also weighed in on the viral video. Expressing her concerns regarding the safety of women in public transportation, she wrote in Marathi, “The video of this young man gaining unauthorised entry into the women’s compartment and engaging in drug use not only raises serious questions about the safety of women but also highlights the ease with which young individuals access these substances.”

“To address such activities, it is crucial for Railway Security and the Mumbai Police to collaborate effectively. Railway Minister Ashwiniji Vaishnav and Maharashtra Home Minister should take note of this video and implement the necessary measures,” her response further emphasised.

While the incident sounds shocking and concerning, unfortunately, it is the only one of its kind. A few days ago, a similar incident was reported by another X user. It was a video of a group of six men and one woman allegedly consuming drugs on a local train in Mumbai. The user claimed that the group was in possession of multiple types of drugs.

As per his tweet, the incident had happened on September 1, and the group disembarked at Nalasopara station late at night. In the short clip, a man can be seen snorting something while another person appears to assist him in the act.
