2023 Assembly Election Updates: The election season has begun in India with polling being conducted in Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. The next day of polling is on November 17 when remaining places of Chhattisgarh will vote and Madhya Pradesh. As the race heats up for the post of CM, all parties are on campaign blitzkrieg.
In Telangana’s Chandrayangutta constituency, both Akbaruddin Owaisi and his son Nooruddin Owaisi have filed their nominations for the same seat. Reportedly, Akbaruddin’s son is being fielded as a backup candidate in case his nomination gets rejected due to legal hurdles. The Election Commission will do the scrutiny of nominations on November 13.

• BRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao filed his nomination papers on Thursday in Gajwel and Kamareddy for the November 30 assembly polls. After filing his nomination papers, he will address a poll rally at Kamareddy in the afternoon, official sources said.
• Senior BRS leader K T Rama Rao has said that his party is not the ‘B Team’ of anybody but the ‘A Team’ of Telangana people. Countering Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s comments that the ruling BRS is the B-team of BJP, he said it did not have any tie-up with the saffron party even in the local body elections. “BRS is Telangana people’s A team, and nobody’s B team,” he said on Wednesday.
