You end up gaining extra kilos due to binge eating and over indulgence with local delicacies during vacation.
Taking a vacation means enjoying your time away from your busy schedule and stressful life. While we do this we often forget about our diets and binge on some yummy tasty food. Trying local food items is an essential part of a vacation itinerary. At times this results in gaining weight. It’s not fair to your body when you work out the entire year to stay fit, but end up gaining weight for overindulgence with food during a vacation.
Recently, Delhi based health expert and nutritionist Nmami Agarwal in an Instagram post explained how you can stay fit after not following your diet plan during the vacation.
In a video on Instagram, Agarwal explained four ways that will help you not to gain extra weight after binge eating during a vacation.
Avoid sugary food items: You’re on a vacation and that shouldn’t stop you from eating tasty dishes, but being mindful will help you to not mess up your regular diet. Sugar rich drinks and food items like tea, coffee, beverages, cakes, pastries or cookies should be avoided.
Pay attention to the satiety: Agarwal explained how overeating can cause harm. She said, “Overeating can cause harm to your bodies in many ways like ulcer, acidity, fat accumulation and weight gain.” It’s safe to not indulge yourself in overeating and to stop when you’re full and satisfied.
Carry fruits and nuts: In order to avoid junk food while travelling it’s wise to carry a box of fruits and nuts. Nmami explained why it’s important to carry fruits and nuts. She said, “Carry fruits and nuts wherever you can. You do not have to starve yourself in-order to avoid gaining weight.”
Avoid following any diet: When you follow a diet even on vacation, that will make your mind wander and unintentionally you’ll end up eating more. Be mindful of your food intake and enjoy your vacation, the nutritionist suggested.
