The Ministry of Home Affairs, Intelligence Bureau (MHA, IB) is seeking online applications from technically sound young graduates with consistent academic records and those who have achieved qualifying cut-off marks in GATE in 2021, 2022, or 2023. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria can submit their applications for the assistant central intelligence officer posts through the official website of the Ministry of Home Affairs at mha.gov.in. The registration process began on December 23 and will culminate on January 12, 2024.
Under this recruitment drive, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Intelligence Bureau aims to fill up a total of 226 posts in the organisation. Among the offered posts, there are 79 vacancies for the Computer Science and Information Technology posts and 147 for the Electronics and Communication posts.
IB ACIO Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria
Age limit: Candidates seeking the position must be between the ages of 18 and 27 as of January 12, 2024.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have attained the qualifying cut-off marks in GATE 202, 2022, or 2023 in Electronics and Communication (GATE code: EC) or Computer Science and Information Technology (GATE code: CS).
In addition to that, candidates must possess any one of the following:
— BE or BTech in the fields of Electronics, Electronics & Tele-communication, Electrical & Electronics, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication or Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from a Government recognised university/college/institute.
— Master’s degree in Science with Electronics or Electronics & Communication or Physics with Electronics or Computer Science
— Master’s degree in Computer Applications from a government recognised university/college/ institute.
IB ACIO Recruitment 2023: Examination Fees
Candidates applying for the post must pay an examination fee of Rs 100 and Rs 100 in addition to recruitment processing charges for male candidates falling under the Unreserved (UR), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Other Backward Class (OBC) categories. Aspirants should further note that the deadline to submit the examination fee is January 16, 2024.
IB ACIO Recruitment 2023: Selection Process
The selection process will be based on the candidate’s GATE score. Those who achieved qualifying cut-off marks in GATE 2021, 2022, or 2023 (10 times the number of vacancies) will be shortlisted and directly invited for the interview. The interview is aimed at assessing the candidate’s qualities on two parameters, that is, subject knowledge in related fields and communication skills. The final merit list will be set by combining the candidates’ marks obtained in the GATE examination as well as in the interview.

Candidates selected for the posts can expect a salary ranging from Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400
