Jabalpur University Students Allege Varsity Forgot to Conduct Exam After Issuing Admit Cards
The students claimed that they had reached the university at 8 am on March 5 following which they were informed that the question paper for the exam had not been prepared

Jabalpur’s Rani Durgavati University allegedly forgot to conduct the MSc Computer Science first semester paper which was scheduled for March 5, 2024. According to the varsity students, the exam schedule and the admit card were released by the university. Around 10 students were slated to appear for the examination.

The students claimed that they had reached the university at 8 am on March 5 following which they were informed that the question paper for the exam had not been prepared and the test now stands cancelled. The date sheet was released 20 days prior to the exam, the students added.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Dr Rajesh Verma, has ordered an investigation into the matter. The VC along with the registrar Deepesh Mishra have now released a new exam schedule. The officials who were slated to conduct the exam have been asked to respond within three days.

As per the official timetable, the MSc Chemistry third semester, MSc Computer Science first semester, and MSc Computer Science third semester exams were scheduled to be held between February 21 to March 13 from 8 am to 11 am. The first-semester Computer Organization and Assembly Language exam was scheduled to be administered on March 5. The exam will now be held on March 15.

The NSUI held a demonstration on the campus wearing black bands over their eyes, Sachin Rajak, a leader of the NSUI organization said on the social media platform, Facebook. He told the local media that the incident was negligence on the university administration’s part. The students had prepared for the exam and put in a lot of effort for the same but the university forgot to hold the exam and this is “unacceptable”.

The registrar however said that nine students of the first semester of MSc Computer Science were unable to take the exam due to an error in the question paper, reported PTI.
