To gain more users on its platform, the Meta-owned micro-blogging platform Threads has rolled out an edit button option. This free feature allows users to make changes to their posts within five minutes of posting them, so they can fix mistakes or update the post quickly.
The similar feature was released by Elon Musk-owned social media platform X for paid subscribers only. Threads, however, is offering this same edit button to all users for free. Earlier, a Threads user had to delete a post and repost it when he or she wanted to correct a typo.
“Rolling out Edit and ‘Voice Threads’ today. Enjoy,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. According to the company, The edit button option on Threads app is available on mobile and the web.
With the edit button on Threads, you can only change a post within five minutes of posting it. After that, you can’t make any more edits. Also, you won’t be able to see what the post looked like before the edit because Threads won’t show the edit history.
The Meta-owned platform is also adding the option to let users share Voice Notes on the app. To use it, tap the new microphone button and record their voice. This note will then be shared on the platform.
According to reports, some users already have access to the Edit button and Voice Notes and the features are expected to reach more users soon.
Since the launch of the Threads App, the company has been adding new features since on regular basis, including a chronological following feed, a web client, and the ability to search for posts.
As per IANS, Threads is also preparing to launch a Trends feature to compete with the Elon-Musk owned X. The potential feature was discovered by an app developer who shared screenshots of the feature that a Meta employee had originally posted.
